Blue hair

Today I dyed my hair blue for the blue army

My diagnosis

Hi my names Flynn,

I was diagnosed on 5th December 2021 with type 1 diabetes , my dad also has type 1 so it wasn’t as scary knowing what to do for me and luckily my mum and dad knew something wasn’t right with me when I was getting extremely thirsty and they had my dads things to test my blood sugar levels before I could get too sick and they took me to hospital.

My blood sugars were so high that my dads machine couldn’t read me as it cuts off at 30 and mine were 33 and I had ketones of 8.3

I’m now wearing a sensor on my arm so my mum and dad can keep an eye on my sugar levels especially when I’m sleeping as I don’t wake up when I’m low and it sends them an alarm to wake them up

I’ve chosen to dye my hair blue to raise money for Type 1
