Fundraising
How can I fundraise?
There are so many different ways! Most people start by sharing their personal page on social media or via email – but don’t forget to personalise your page first! You can also try more creative methods, and we have some fun resources and templates available for you to use. See them here.
How long do I have to fundraise?
We recommend giving yourself 4 weeks to hit your fundraising target :) If you get there sooner, even better! That means it's time to celebrate and colour your hair blue (or chop it, shave it, colour it rainbow - whatever you fancy). You can also choose to increase your target and raise even more funds for T1D research!
Where does the fundraising money go?
JDRF is the leading supporter of type 1 diabetes research in the world and has been part of every major breakthrough in T1D research over the last 45 years. Any funds raised for JDRF go towards the most promising, life-changing research to cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes. Find out more about JDRF’s research here.
Are donations tax deductible?
Yes, all donations over $2 in value are tax deductible.
Blue Hair Challenge Information
Does it cost anything to join?
There is no fee to join the JDRF Blue Hair Challenge, but we encourage all participants to reach their fundraising target – either by personal donation or by seeking donations from family, friends, and colleagues. The more money we raise, the more money we can contribute towards type 1 diabetes research. You can contact us at communications@jdrf.org.au with any questions!
What's included in the JDRF Blue Hair Challenge pack?
Once you've raised $500, you'll get instructions on how to redeem your FREE Blue Hair Challenge pack! This will be delivered straight to your doorstep. The pack includes:
- 1x pack of organic, vegan blue hair dye that is semi permanent (suitable for dark or light hair)
- 1 exclusive JDRF Blue Army t-shirt
When do I get my JDRF Blue Hair Challenge pack?
Once you raise $500 in the JDRF Blue Hair Challenge, you are eligible to receive your pack! We'll send you an email with instructions on how to order your pack which will then be delivered to your door within 10 days business days. If you have any questions, please email communications@jdrf.org.au
