Dyed my hair blue.
Dying my hair blue because my baby nephew has Diabetes T1 and nearly lost his life without anyone knowing it. Lucky for his mummy who notices all the strange changes and increase of water drinking. She decided to take him to the doctor's. While after seeing her GP and not being satisfied with their diagnosis, she went to another who gave her the same answer. She did not give up as she knew something more was wrong with her baby and wouldn't accept the diagnosis she was given so she thought to take him to the hospital. After a whole day of driving to different doctor surgeries this lil man of hers was restless, and tired of the driving and waiting and sitting etc his behaviour escalated and started stressing mummy out. She was finally seen by a nurse at first then rushed to emergency. At this point we learned something that changed all of our lives, mainly the life style and comfort of eating sweets and chocolates of this baby boy, which were his favourite things in the world, would now stop and the restriction on certain foods was hurtful for us to go through as well.I’m fundraising for JDRF to defeat T1D!
For this little boy I love and adore, I’m fundraising for JDRF to defeat T1D! Once I reach my fundraising target to help support vital T1D research, I’ll be dyeing my hair blue.
Type 1 diabetes can strike anyone at any time, and 8 Australians are diagnosed every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break and facing an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy.
