Re-Blue!

Thanks to the JDRF for the blue hair dye, and to Mum for re-colouring my hair for a round two blue!! 

Special shout out to Zack, for recently doing his own finger pricks and even his own insulin injections!! Super proud!

I’m fundraising for JDRF to defeat T1D!

This year I'm taking part in the JDRF Blue Hair Challenge to help raise funds for life changing type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. Once I reach my fundraising target, I'll be colouring my hair blue! I’m hoping to do this by the end of February. Please support me in helping to paint a better future for the 130,000+ Aussies currently living with T1D. 

Five months ago, two days after his 5th birthday, our amazing little man Zack was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. This has been life changing and a huge adjustment for Zack in every way, and has also affected everyone around him. Zack is the bravest little guy we know and we want to do anything we can to help him, and to make his and other Type 1’s day to day easier. 

For those who aren’t familiar with T1D – it’s a life-long autoimmune condition where the body is unable to produce insulin (which is what controls blood sugar in our bodies). Without insulin, blood sugar can build up in the bloodstream in dangerous amounts. People with T1D need to monitor their blood sugar levels 24/7 and administer themselves insulin day and night. 

Eight Australians are diagnosed with T1D every day. Diagnosis means a 24/7 fight with no break and facing an extra 180 decisions a day to remain safe and healthy.
