Ariahs diagnosis

Ariah was always considered our lucky child because she didn't have any health problems as a child or baby however one weekend that all changed for her and our family.

We had taken Ariah numerous times to the gp over the course of 14 months as when we had moved house she became quiet unwell without any real underlying issues , she had began with a rash that wasn't going away and no one seemed to have any answers for her or us.. we took every advice given and Ariah would have months without anything showing up again until she began getting chest pains/heart palpitations again we took her to our gp and they had mentioned possible anxiety so we generally treated those episodes as such.. one day at school it happened to Ariah again, but this time it wasn't going away after rest so I had picked her up from school and she had become 100% recovered, I booked her to see our gp again and we had attuned that appointment on Thursday afternoon, ariahs blood pressure was quiet high so it was taken again and only a slight decrease in it, the gp said it could be anxiety nut we would get some bloods done on the Saturday as it was a fasting test that she needed to do.  She became nauseous and began vomiting on the Friday night, into Saturday with a few hours gap between so I had treated her as of she had a tummy bug, Sunday morning at 7am she was becoming unresponsive,  she was hyperthermic, hyperglycaemia and in a full DKA on presentation to hospital. We were rushed with lights and sirens, Ariah had lost ability to speak, close her eyes or move her hands, we spent the next 3 hours in resus before she was transferred to schn randwick where she spent 3 days in ICU and 2 days on ward. Ariah has adjusted so well through this week but this is only the beginning for her and our family.
