What is the purpose of the Trek Peru charity challenge?

How challenging is the Trek Peru expedition?
The trip is graded as moderate and suitable for fit and healthy individuals. No prior trekking experience is necessary, but participants should be comfortable with outdoor activities and camping. The trek involves 6-8 hours of trekking a day at a steady pace, with altitudes not exceeding 5,500m.
What is the suggested preparation for this trek?
Recommended preparation includes one hour of aerobic exercise, three to five times a week for three months leading up to the trip. Hill walking with a pack in variable weather conditions is also advised for leg strengthening and aerobic fitness.
How does the fundraising process work?

- $200 registration fee through HUMA
- $610 optional single supplement through HUMA
- $4090 travel cost through HUMA
- $2,500 fundraising target through the JDRF Blue Army website
So, the total minimum cost comes to $6,790 (including the $2,500 fundraising target).
This number doesn't include trip exclusions such as international flights and taxes, internal flights, travel insurance (compulsory), visas, personal items, excess baggage costs, medical treatment, laundry, and alcoholic beverages (except wine on the last trek day).
How can I fundraise for the challenge?
There are multiple fundraising options, including seeking support from friends, family, and workmates, making a personal donation of $2500 (tax-deductible), or fundraising as much as possible and personally funding the gap to reach the target. The JDRF fundraising team will provide support and resources for effective fundraising.
