Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro for this great cause
Annabelle is our beautiful 14-year-old daughter - she faces daily challenges living with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D).
Knowing what Annabelle goes through and how she handles it is an inspiration. That's why I've decided to challenge myself, and I'll be tackling Mount Kilimanjaro with my son this August.
As part of this I've started a fundraising campaign to raise awareness and funds for the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Australia.

Living with T1D
Despite the challenges she faces, Annabelle has refused to let her condition define her and continues to embrace a positive outlook on life.
She faces a never-ending cycle of blood sugar monitoring, insulin dosing, and careful management of diet and exercise.
Even with the best medical care and management tools available, there are always unexpected highs and lows in blood sugar levels that can have serious consequences if not managed properly.
The physical and mental toll of living with T1D is never ending and exhausting.

JDRF Australia is the leading funder of type 1 diabetes (T1D) research aimed at creating a world without T1D. Every day, eight Australians will be diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. The condition can strike anyone at any time.
A type 1 diabetes diagnosis means a lifetime of insulin injections or infusions to stay alive, plus regular painful finger pricks and careful blood glucose management.
