I’m fundraising for JDRF to defeat T1D!
Hi all
We're running in the Reykjavik Marathon and Half Marathon in August 2024, fundraising for JDRF to defeat T1D!
We are using this event to raise much-needed funds for medical research aimed at finding a cure for Type 1 (Juvenile) Diabetes.
As some of you know, our son/brother Matt lives with this deadly, chronic disease. Over the years, our family has raised over $150,000 with the generous help of people just like you , all of which has been donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Â
We are passionate about helping to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. The JDRF will allocate the money raised to the best and most prospective research globally, aimed at curing this horrible disease, which Matt has lived with for 21 of his 22 years. In that time he has had well over 60,000 needles/injections, either to take blood glucose readings or to inject life-saving insulin.Â
With this run, we hope to raise at least $15,000 to help this fantastic cause - your contribution, no matter how small, will help us towards that target.Â
